Image Quality

The Fujifilm FinePix HS10 is capable of delivering images with exact exposures and some very nice colors in various shooting conditions. Overall, the image quality produced by the HS10 is very good for a superzoom bridge camera, although still not as good as those you will get from a digital SLR camera. This is very acceptable, since the HS10 only uses a small 1/2.3 inch sensor. It is also worth noting that the HS10 has a Pro Low-Light Mode, in which the camera will capture four nearly simultaneous shots and then combine them into a single image with reduced noise and blur. This feature is very useful, especially when shooting with a full-zoomed lens or shooting in low lighting conditions.

Video Quality

The Fujifilm FinePix HS10 is capable of recording 1920 x 1080p full High Definition videos with stereo sound, which is not a common feature for a superzoom bridge camera. You will be happy using the HS10’s video recording mode, especially because the camera will be able to refocus quickly after you change the zoom. Speaking of video quality, you can’t expect the same quality as those offered by High Definition camcorders; however, the videos produced by the HS10 are still very satisfying.

Conclusion

Although resembling a digital SLR camera in terms of look and feel, the Fujifilm FinePix HS10 is still no match to “real” digital SLR cameras; however, the combination of its very high continuous shooting speed and its very versatile lens that goes from 24mm at wide-angle out to an extremely long 720mm at the telephoto end, makes the HS10 stand out among other superzoom bridge cameras available to date.
